In philosophical definitions, free will is the ability to make choices for oneself and to act willfully towards it. In the society run by Napoleon, the animals' personal free will is constantly being eliminated slowly. The commandments which acted as their source of rights has been diminished. The concept of free will is important in order for individuals to reach success. When free will is suppressed the animals are unable to unleash their true potential. They are unable to reason and to establish their unique ideas. They only follow the goal of Napoleon which results in an oppressive government for the governments. Free will encourages equality amongst civilization and in the particular case of Animal Farm, free will does not exist.

This song by Michael Jackson " they don't care about us" reflects the environment on Animal Farm. Although the animals are not bright enough to realize that Napoleon gives orders for his wants, these actions shows that he doesn't care about his people. In Michael Jackson's song, he sings about the poverty and the suffering of people but simply the higher ups or the governments show no care for these people and carry out actions for their own needs. This song reflects how Napoleon does everything for his wants but not showing any care for the people in this case the animals of Animal Farm excluding the pigs. This song expresses the mentality that the animals should have if they want to recover their free will and defeat the wrath of Napoleon so they can flourish as Animal Farm.
Clover's Blog
Hello, my name is Clover and this is my Blog. I live my life in the Animal Farm controlled by our leader Napoleon. It's been a long time since the rebellion against the humans, I can't describe if living conditions have improved or not but I know for sure its better than when Mr. Jones was around. However our leader Napoleon had changed the rules and regulations of Animal Farm constantly which had created a completely different environment in Animal Farm.

It's not the same anymore...
It has been a very long time since the rebellion, now only few animals and I remember the particular event. Life has changed in Animal farm and it seems to be showing signs of prosperity. The Windmill, or should I say Napoleon mill has finally been completed. It is now used to farm certain materials in order to benefit our farm. Everything is much different than it used to be, today Benjamin read out to me the seven commandments we used to follow, but only the last commandment remains " all animals are equal". However in addition to this rule, some animals are greater than others. This appeared very frightening to me because the rules that we swore by were now eliminated. Another frightening event is that the pigs invited neighboring farmers to tour Animal Farm. These people were once our enemies but it seems as if we have separated our differences or well at least the pigs did. I honestly would of thought that us animals would never become a team with the humans since they were the ones who were constantly striving for power over us. That night the animals and I overheard Napoleon and Mr. Pilkington having a poker game and we decided to take a look. They seemed to be having a jolly time until they began to fight over the ace of spades. Funny thing is, we animals were no longer able to tell from Napoleon or Mr. Pilkington, their behaviors were so similar the Napoleon that once had stood up against the human race has now changed into something like human instead. Now I finally realize that our efforts into Animal Farm had been solely for the wants of Napoleon and his personal interest. The elimination of our equality and freedom has cause the animals suffering except for the pigs who live luxurious lives while we suffer on our own. Every task we carry out is now based on the wants of Napoleon.
New Leader?
After the battle of Cowshed, there has been more going on in Animal Farm. During the fight Snowball had shown great bravery into attacking Mr. Jones while receiving many injuries. Snowball sure proved his worth towards us but Napoleon seems to be unimpressed. The two of them are constantly in debate, always fighting with each other to gain the trust of animals. Once the battle of Cowshed has been concluded, they've decided that a new leader must be chosen to govern Animal Farm. We animals have always like Snowball because of his fair decision making. However the unfortunate happened amongst all of us animals. Today Snowball gave Animal Farm his speech regarding the project of the windmill and electricity. I have to admit, the speech gave by Snowball inspired many of us so that we have a chance to improve Animal Farm and to keep away the human invaders that will potentially harm Animal Farm. As soon as this happened, Napoleon summoned his nine vicious guard dogs and banished Snowball out of Animal Farm forever. In my opinion I believed it wasn't fair to banish Snowball without any rational thinking. Snowball was a strong individual that proved his strength intellectually and physically, he was the one who morally empowered the animals at Animal Farm and paved the way towards the success of Animal Farm to this very day. The banishment of Snowball from Animal Farm signals that Napoleon's power seems to be growing greater because of the fear he strikes into the animals and as well as myself. I believe that whoever chooses to oppose the physical power of Napoleon will face great consequences. Later on that day, Squealer talks to us about the situation regarding Snowball. He explains that Snowball was a traitor and criminal. The decisions created by Napoleon has been only for the benefits of Animal Farm. It was shocking to hear that the pig who we most trusted had become a traitor. If this is true however, I am glad that Napoleon will govern us and we will work harder to Napoleon.
Beasts of England
In this farm where all my friends and family are Mr.Jones is in charge of our farm, well at least he used to be. Things change quick and Mr.Jones had forgotten about us due to his frequent consumption of alcohol. This is when the rebellion first started. Old Major had told us that he wishes for us animals to be free from the grasp of human beings. He calls it animalism. With the use of this philosophy, the animals of the farm will begin to prosper and tear away the reign of the humans that have governed us for so long. The rebellion had initiated when the cows had fought off Mr. Jones and his men. Their success had given us the confidence that we are able to stand up for ourselves and to overthrow the humans. This rebellion is symbolized from the singing of "Beasts of England" which is the source of Animal Farm's courage and motivation in order to stand up against the oppression. We've decided that we would carry out Old Major's dream of living a life free of humans and that we'll let the most intelligent members of our group who are Snowball and Napoleon to lead us in this long journey. After this rebellion, Snowball and Napoleon have led us to follow the principles of Animalism and now we are bound to the seven commandments that will govern our actions in animal farm. The rebellion is a good sign because the animals have been so used to the fact that Mr. Jones is our master but now we govern ourselves and now we have gained our freedom in order to better Animal Farm and to live out the dreams of Old Major. Long live Animal Farm!!
